Rugby League Betting: Second-half blitz sees Park blitz Old Gs
CHARLTON Park resumed their London Three South East campaign with a 34-10 success at home to Old Gravesendians, writes Roe Belcher.
Park could’ve been forgiven for a spot of ring-rustiness in their first home match of 2010, but they opened the scoring when a fine drive saw utility forward Sam Baker driven over the line to score; Sam Naden kicked the extras with aplomb from out wide.

The home side then went off the boil and Old Gravesendians were rewarded for a spell of pressure midway through the half when they scored a converted try from a well-orchestrated move. There was then further disappointment for Park as the visitors slotted a penalty on the stroke of half-time for an interval lead. However, the hosts went back to basics in the second period and rattled home four unanswered tries to seal a stunning fightback. Some excellent work by Rob Saunderson teed up Michael Casizzi to dot down under the posts. Quick thinking from No 8 Lewis Williams saw Charlton grab their second five-pointer of the half, with scrum half Ben Bevan eventually going over for his first try for the club. A quick tap penalty from Saunderson then allowed fly-half Ben Chappell the opportunity to outstrip the Old Gs defence before Williams set up the final score for Baker. A Naden penalty and two successful conversions rounded off a fine afternoon’s work for the victorious home team.
SHOOTERS Hill gained a welcome 28-10 win at home to nearby rivals Bexley to hold onto third position, with eight victories, after their recent lay-off, writes Chris Peters. Richard Gardener was first to score last Saturday followed by a good effort from Mayowa Soremekin and Gareth Cross kicked a penalty to see the hosts 13 -3 up at half-time. Bexley were not giving in, but Cross kicked a further penalty and Henry Sivell sneaked past the defence. A fine move involving Sevill and Edmar Vinluan then saw the latter touch down, and Cross convert, for a comfortable success.
